Quick Anti-Depressant for the Recession Blues

If you're feeling depressed, as many of us are during this recession, it may help to make a list of all the things that make you feel successful. Not just professional activities, but anything that you're really good at.

It could be a professional skill that you'd put on your resume; or something from your peronal life such as programming your DVR, making babies smile, identifying birds, or knitting socks.

Make a list of three, ten, or a hundred things that you're good at. Then imagine doing each of those things and feel the satisfaction of just knowing that you're successful at that item on your list.

I'm not a psychologist; I've just noticed that this simple technique works for me. It might work for you.

So... of all the things you do, what are you really good at? What makes you feel successful?

Great suggestions. I think it always makes you feel better to go look at your "atta boy" file, which should have all notes, copies of awards and rankings to remind yourself what a winner you are! And, loud 80's music helps too!
