Clipart on Resumes?

Clipart on resumes? I thought those days were over. Remember the cute airbrushed apples on teachers' resumes, and the illustration of a truck on resumes for drivers. (We're talking back in the '80s.) I'm a resume writer and *sometimes* put clip art on resumes -- but not on everyone's. If people don't have a lot of experience, it's a good way to fill space and convey the candidate's idea of the job. I would make sure the file is small, though. I once put a simple line drawing of a forklift on a resume where the candidate was applying for a warehouse job. I knew the recruiter so asked what he thought of it. He said he liked it and it made the resume memorable (in a good way). The candidate got hired for the job. I agree that you need to be careful and if in doubt, leaved it out.
