A great way to build rapport with your interviewer is to use his or her name from time to time when answering questions.
So memorize her name, and if it’s a tricky one, be sure you have the correct pronunciation (maybe call the organization and ask the receptionist how the name is pronounced). Practice saying it beforehand so it’ll just roll right off your tongue during your interview. That will really impress your interviewer!
By the way, you should refer to your potential employer as Mr. (or Ms.) So-and-So, unless the interviewer invites you to call him by his first name.
Six Ways to Make People Like You by Chris Cree isn’t exactly about job interviewing, but it offers some great tips that might help the interviewer like you. That would be cool!
