Now that we all turn to the Internet to find everything from love to jobs, Help Wanted newspaper ads may seem like old news. Not so! Newspapers still have pages and pages of job listings for positions from janitor to CFO, and your next job might be among them!
Don't underestimate the value of the good ol' newspaper job search. Employers don't--they place thousands of ads each day and find good hires as a result. Maybe these employers assume that job candidates who read the newspaper are more intelligent and in tune with what's going on in the world.
Of course, newspapers have websites (free or subscription) where they post their entire publications. Many of these websites have career or job sections that list the same ads found in their hardcopy counterparts.
An easy way to jumpstart your online newspaper search is through Yahoo! News, which offers a master index of some great online publications.
Whether you prefer to browse the classifieds in hardcopy or online, be sure to include your local, regional, or even your national newspapers in your job-hunt toolbox.
